My Journey
I have been a headhunter since 1996, starting with a small Financial Services recruitment firm in London. I immediately loved all the candidate and client contact and the opportunity to play a role in people’s careers and also to help businesses make hires that would make a difference.
I moved to The Rose Partnership, a Financial Services boutique and this was when my headhunting journey really started. One of the things that stuck with me was Philippa Rose telling me that the most important thing you do when meeting a candidate is to create trust. It sounds obvious, but this is at the core of how I deal with people.

I became a Consultant in the Fixed Income practice at The Rose Partnership and when the practice lead left to join Baines Gwinner, she asked me to go with her and I then had one of the most fulfilling periods of my career. We built the Fixed Income practice to become the highest performing in the firm, working on team moves as well as numerous individual moves. When Baines Gwinner was bought by Whitehead Mann, I became a Partner in the Fixed Income practice which I ended up leading and enjoyed being part of a larger firm.

I moved to Edinburgh in 2004, having pitched the idea of setting up an Edinburgh practice to Whitehead Mann. I became a “generalist” and initially worked across sectors, always with a core focus on Financial Services and became a Partner in the Consumer, Banking & Insurance practice and worked on UK/European wide Searches.
When Whitehead Mann was acquired by Korn Ferry I set up my own boutique in 2009. I have become increasingly focused on the Wealth Management, Platform, Life, Pensions and Investments sectors. I love this sector and the people in them (well most of them!). Some of my previous clients were very supportive and gave me my first roles and the practice has thrived since then.
